Gaia Education Training of Trainers (ToT)* course is answering a worldwide demand for skilled facilitators able to facilitate transformative learning environments and host multi-stakeholder conversations that enable collaborative action.

The aim of the Training of Trainers is first and foremost, to help you deepen your experience in how to teach, facilitate and train people by enabling collaboration and participation among a community of learners. In addition, we support and hope to inspire you to identify what you are most deeply called to teach, and most importantly, why participatory methods are so critical for the engagement of communities and societies.

Addressing the urgency of accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at local level, Gaia ToT also includes the SDG Multipliers Training, including a module utilising the whole-systems inspired SDG Flashcards.

*The course will be taught in English.

Why Tulum?

ToT Tulum will take place right after the RegenWeek '24, a gathering of regenerative leaders taking place in Tulum, Mexico, from March 21-28, 2024.

Learning Outcomes

During the Training of Trainers, the participants will:

  • develop core skills of participatory facilitation and learning
  • gain confidence in holding groups and building resilient learning communities
  • facilitate students engagement in critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making in contexts that are personally relevant to them
  • decode UN conventions from concept to transformative action

SDG Training of Multipliers

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Training is a two-days course which can be taken as a stand-alone training. This interactive course invites participants to discuss the implementation of the SDGs at the global and local levels. It is a question-centred training, designed to further SDGs education and engage local communities in a process that will turn the SDGs into meaningful projects that are locally relevant and collaboratively implemented by the communities themselves.

This training is designed to build the capacity of participants to become Multipliers – facilitators of vitally important conversations who can replicate and organise their own SDG Training of Multipliers. The goal is to create a ripple effect and multiply the implementation of the SDGs. In this training participants learn an easily replicable process to facilitate more of these conversations themselves in the future, with the SDG Flashcards and the SDG Multipliers Handbook as useful guidance tools to support the process.

The Training of Trainers includes a SDG Training of Multipliers. You can choose to register for the two-day SDG Training only. Please note that if you wish to become a Gaia Education Certified Trainer, you must attend the full Training of Trainers and not only the SDG Training. Read more about the SDG Training.

A: Check out the Ground Transportation options on our LinkTree here:

https://travelmexicosolo.com/cancun-to-tulum/

Q: Can I book accommodations somewhere else?

A: Yes, you are free to do your own research and book elsewhere. However, we recommend staying close by or renting a car so you can join us in daily classes at Ekumal.

Q: Can we connect with other program participants to see if anyone is interested in roommates and splitting costs?

A: Yes, we will be hosting a call with participants to discuss logistics, as well as setting up a WhatsApp group for group communications.

A: Probably, but it is subject to availability.

Q: I want to go to Chichen Itza for the Spring Equinox (March 21st). What are my options?

A: This is a bucket list activity for thousands of people around the world. Q: How much does this entire experience cost?

A: This is a choose-your-adventure experience where your options and needs will impact your budget. Prices will depend on whether you are staying for a week or two, whether you booked early and got the reduced rate or not, depending on your accommodation option and travel costs.

A: We do not have an official concierge, so in the spirit of Radical Self Reliance, we ask that everyone assume responsibility for their plans and logistics. The Gaia Education experience begins the day the program starts.
