“I think what we owe each other is a celebration of life and to replace fear and hopelessness with fearlessness and joy” – Vandana Shiva

Cynthia would present herself as the daughter of the Guarani Aquifer and of the Botucatu Cuesta, Brazil. The breathtaking views of the Cuesta escarpments combined with her passion for nature and plants ultimately led her to one of her great mentors, Roberto Burle Marx, under whose tutelage she worked for nine years in Rio de Janeiro.

Her work focuses on developing landscaping design projects aimed at awakening in people a loving relationship with nature. With time, permaculture and agroecology have become part of Cynthia’s personal journey and these increasingly holistic views have translated into a new approach to her work. She designs gardens as a place to both experience beauty and grows ones own food in a manner that shows love and devotion to Mother Earth and she maintains this same approach with the youth activities she facilitates.
